Week 25 Letter

Hi baby,

So I’m sorry that it’s been a while since I’ve written to you. Not that I have to make excuses – I am the Mommy after all – but every time I’ve gotten on the internet over the past week or so it’s been to read what people are saying about your daddy. You see, little one, Daddy’s up for a new job – we didn’t think we had enough life changes over the last year or so with the wedding, the house, changes at my job and YOU; we decided that we needed more activity. So, Daddy threw his name in for a football opening. I won’t go into all the details but the process has kind of been a pain in the neck and has gotten public – as most things high school football related in this area of the world do. So, when I get online it’s to read about your dad, and if you’ve felt my blood boil a time or two this week, it’s because some people are just stupid.

So, anyway, while all of that has been going on, you’ve just been hanging out… getting bigger, getting stronger. I feel your kicks more now. Some days it feels like you’re doing the Macarana in there, other days its the occasional stretch or hiccup. We went to the doctor last week and she said you are growing right on schedule (although she also said that I was grew a little too much in four weeks… hm….).

It’s so crazy to think that in just about 3 months you’ll be here. I’m so excited for that, little one. I can’t wait to meet you and see if you look like me or your dad or maybe one of your aunts or your uncle. It’s overwhelming sometimes to think about how much our lives are going to change when you join us. A couple weeks ago Daddy joked that next year at this time we would be sitting out by our pool instead of in your grandma’s back yard. But really next year at this time we won’t be sitting – ever. Because you’ll be crawling, probably trying to pull yourself up on things, maybe testing out your little legs to try out walking…. and we’ll be too busy chasing you around to sit down. You are going to give us so much: a way to see the world differently, things to laugh about, and so much to be thankful for.

Just a couple more months, munchkin. We can’t wait.

We love you!
